DNA - Hind III Digest
DNA size standard for larger molecules
Description
The bacteriophage
is produced in E. coli. After purification the double-stranded DNA is digested with restriction endonuclease Hind III. The Hind III digest of
DNA (48,502 bp) yields 8 fragments of the sizes shown in the table below.

* Due to the low amount of DNA these bands are almost invisible
Note: The cohesive ends of fragments 1 and 4 can be separated by heating to 65 °C for 5 minutes.
Contents
0.5 µg/µl DNA supplied in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 1 mM EDTA.
Ready-to-Use Marker
50 ng/µl DNA supplied in 8 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 12 mM EDTA, 12 % glycerol, 0.012 % (w/v) bromophenol blue dye.
Unit definition: 1.0 A260 unit ds DNA = 50 µg/ml
Storage and stability
For daily use the marker can be stored at +4 °C (1 month). The marker is stable at -20 °C for one year from the assay date.
