Conditions

Products are sold for research and laboratory use and are not to be used on humans or for any drug purposes. Material Safety Data Sheets on all the products are available from the local distributor or from Finnzymes upon request and soon also on this site.

Lot numbering

Lot number and assay date (packaging date for kits) are marked on the label of the product and on the product package. The lot number can be used for tracking back the origin of the product. Each product code has its own lot numbering.

Assay date / packaging date

The assay date (marked “Assayed month/year”) is the date when the activity/function was tested in Finnzymes’ laboratory. Kit box labels state the lot number of the kit and the date when the kit was packaged. The kit components, specifically the enzymes, are packaged less than two months after the assay dates. Buffers are very stable and can be stored at -20°C for years.

The recommended storage temperatures and stability for each product can be found in the respective product pages and in the product manuals and data sheets.

Shipping

All Finnzymes’ biological products are stored and shipped frozen (-20°C) in styrofoam boxes. The gel ice holds the product temperature below 0°C for 3 days at an ambient temperature of 25°C. To avoid waste and to save the environment, the styrofoam boxes should be recycled.
